What are hero cards?
Hero cards allow you to increase your hero's rank.
The number of cards for each hero can be viewed in the “Heroes” tab. It also displays how many cards you need to accumulate to increase your rank.
Starting from level 60, hero cards are also needed to increase the hero’s level.

How to get cards?
Cards for random heroes drop from all chests. You can also purchase a chest with cards in the store.
How duplicate Hero Cards work at max
In Bullet Echo, each hero can be upgraded up to a cap. When a hero is at this cap — or already has enough cards for the next upgrade — any additional Hero Cards for that hero automatically convert into Coins. This behavior is by design and applies to all players.
How it works
- When opening a chest, claiming an offer, or receiving cards from any other source, the game checks the hero’s upgrade state.
- If the hero is at cap or the next-upgrade requirement is already met, the extra cards are instantly converted into Coins.
- This conversion is visible from the first occurrence: you’ll see cards turning into Coins during the reward-opening animation, and the Coin amount is listed on the summary screen.
Why it happens
This ensures duplicate rewards aren’t lost — their value is retained as Coins.
Where you’ll see it
- Opening animation — cards for a capped hero appear and then transform into Coins on-screen.
- Summary screen — the Coins from conversion are clearly listed alongside other rewards.
Tip
- If you prefer to prioritize non-capped heroes, review your roster before purchasing chests or offers. Depending on the chest type and reward pool, cards are granted according to drop rules; duplicates for capped heroes may still convert to Coins when applicable.
Joker Cards
Joker cards are universal cards that can be applied to any hero by adding a certain number of cards to him.
