Currently, in order to start getting trophies again, players need to move to the next stage.

 

There's a trophy limit in the game, 400 trophies for each stage to be exact, to prevents players from staying on the stage for too long and abusing the system (ruining balance and matchmaking). Once you move on to the next stage, your trophy counter is reset and you can start earning trophies for your gang again.
