There's a difference between kills and knockouts. When you knock out an enemy, their allies can still revive them until the timer runs out. This doesn't count as a kill. A kill is counted when the knockout timer expires, and a skull appears on the ground in place of the player's body.

Also, if it was a member of the winning team, the kill won't be counted.
