C.A.T.S. is an asynchronous multiplayer game. Even though you play against the machines created by real players, your opponents shouldn't necessarily be online at the time of the battle. Being able to control the full flow of a fight would give the attacker a massive advantage over the defender (who is offline at that time). That's why you can't fully control fights. The result is based on real-life physics and depends on the way both cars are designed.

Still, not controlling a fight doesn't mean that you can't influence the battle's outcome! Using co-pilots, you can try changing the result of a battle using the co-pilot skills.
